1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Coastal Lux, LLC ("Coastal Lux," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, services, and communications, including but not limited to vehicle rentals, concierge services, and text messaging.

By accessing our website, booking a vehicle, using our concierge services, or providing your phone number for text message communications, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

Coastal Lux, LLC is a premium vehicle rental and concierge hospitality company operated by Marc Walden, based in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

2. Services Description

Coastal Lux provides the following services to guests visiting the Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama area:

  • Premium Vehicle Rentals — A curated fleet of vehicles available for booking through the Turo peer-to-peer car sharing platform, including sedans, SUVs, trucks, and specialty vehicles. All vehicles include complimentary beach parking decals for Gulf Shores public beach lots.
  • Concierge Services — White-glove hospitality services including private chef experiences, vacation grocery stocking, beach equipment rentals, restaurant reservations, local activity planning, and airport meet-and-greet at Jack Edwards National Airport (GUF).
  • Beach Equipment Rentals — Cabanas, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, coolers, beach towels, beach blankets, and related gear available as add-ons to any vehicle booking.
  • Airport Vehicle Delivery — Vehicle staging and delivery from our location at 956 Commerce Loop, adjacent to GUF airport, with typical delivery times of approximately 72 seconds from the terminal.

Our services are designed to provide a complete Gulf Coast hospitality experience, not just a vehicle rental.

3. Booking and Payments

Vehicle Rentals

All vehicle rentals are booked and processed through the Turo platform (turo.com). Vehicle pricing, insurance, and payment processing are governed by Turo's terms of service and policies. By booking a vehicle through Turo, you agree to both Turo's terms and these Coastal Lux Terms of Service.

Add-On Services and Concierge

Add-on services (beach equipment, grocery stocking, private chef, prepaid refuel, child safety seats) are paid separately and directly to Coastal Lux. Payment for add-on services is due at the time of booking confirmation. We accept payment via methods communicated at the time of your booking.

Pricing

Vehicle rental prices displayed on our website are starting prices and may vary based on dates, demand, trip duration, and seasonal factors. Actual pricing is determined at the time of booking on the Turo platform. Add-on service pricing is as listed on our website or as quoted during your booking coordination.

4. Vehicle Use

Age Requirements

  • You must be at least 21 years of age to rent any vehicle from our fleet.
  • You must be at least 25 years of age to rent our Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray or any vehicle designated as "Deluxe Class."
  • A valid driver's license and Turo account in good standing are required for all bookings.

Mileage Limits

  • Our Corvette C8 includes 300 miles per trip. Excess mileage is charged per Turo's overage policy.
  • All other vehicles include 600 miles per trip. Excess mileage is charged per Turo's overage policy.
  • Extended mileage may be available upon request and must be arranged prior to trip start.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank, unless you have purchased our Prepaid Refuel add-on ($50/trip). If the vehicle is returned without a full tank and without the Prepaid Refuel service, refueling charges will apply per Turo's policies.

Beach Parking Passes

All Coastal Lux vehicles are equipped with beach parking decals valid at all seven Gulf Shores public beach parking lots, including East Gulf Place, Laguna Pass, West 4th, 5th, 6th, 10th, 12th, and 13th Street, and Main Gulf Place. These decals save approximately $15 per day. The parking decals must remain in/on the vehicle at all times and must not be removed or transferred.

Prohibited Uses

In addition to any restrictions imposed by Turo's terms of service, the following uses are prohibited:

  • Off-road driving (unless in a vehicle specifically designated for off-road use)
  • Smoking or vaping inside any vehicle
  • Transporting pets without prior written approval and a pet fee arrangement
  • Subletting, re-renting, or sharing the vehicle with unauthorized drivers
  • Use for any illegal purpose

5. SMS / Text Messaging Terms

This section describes your rights and our obligations regarding text message communications sent by Coastal Lux, LLC.

Consent to Receive Text Messages

By providing your mobile phone number to Coastal Lux, LLC — whether through our website, a booking on Turo, direct communication, or any other method — you expressly consent to receive text messages (SMS and MMS) from Coastal Lux related to your booking and our services. This consent applies to messages sent via automated technology, including but not limited to automated messaging systems.

Types of Messages

Text messages from Coastal Lux may include, but are not limited to:

  • Booking confirmations and reservation details
  • Trip updates, reminders, and schedule changes
  • Check-in and check-out instructions
  • Vehicle delivery coordination and location updates
  • Pricing notifications and dynamic pricing alerts
  • Concierge service coordination (grocery stocking, beach gear, private chef scheduling)
  • Customer service responses and support communications
  • Post-trip follow-ups and feedback requests

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on your booking activity and service requests. You can typically expect to receive 3 to 10 messages per booking. During active trip coordination (such as airport pickup or concierge arrangement), message volume may temporarily increase.

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates apply to all text messages sent to and received from Coastal Lux. Coastal Lux is not responsible for any fees charged by your wireless carrier.

Reply STOP to cancel. You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message, and no further text messages will be sent unless you re-subscribe.

No Purchase Required

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase or use of our services. You are not required to consent to text messaging in order to book a vehicle or use any Coastal Lux service. Alternative communication methods (email, phone call) are available upon request.

Carrier Compatibility

Our text messaging services are compatible with all major U.S. wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and their subsidiaries and affiliates. Coastal Lux is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages caused by carrier issues, network problems, or device incompatibility.

Privacy of Phone Numbers

Your phone number and messaging opt-in data will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We use your phone number solely for the purposes described in this section. For more information on how we handle your personal data, please contact us at the information listed in Section 12.

6. Concierge Services

Coastal Lux offers a range of concierge services designed to enhance your Gulf Coast vacation experience:

  • Private Chef Experience — Our founder, a classically trained chef with over 20 years of experience specializing in Southern coastal cuisine with French technique, is available for in-home private dinner experiences at your rental property. Menus, dietary accommodations, and scheduling are coordinated in advance. Pricing is provided upon inquiry based on party size, menu selection, and special requests.
  • Vacation Grocery Stocking — Provide us with your grocery list and your vehicle will arrive pre-loaded, or your vacation rental will be stocked before your arrival. A $75 concierge fee applies in addition to the cost of groceries (reimbursed at receipt).
  • Beach Equipment — Cabanas ($75/trip), Tommy Bahama beach chairs ($20/day each, 2 available), Tommy Bahama backpack coolers ($8/day), beach blankets ($7/day), beach towels ($3/day each). Equipment is delivered clean and ready for your use.
  • Restaurant Reservations — We leverage our local knowledge to secure reservations at Gulf Shores and Orange Beach restaurants on your behalf, at no additional charge.
  • Activity Planning — Fishing charters, dolphin cruises, island tours, and other local experiences can be arranged through our concierge service. Availability and pricing depend on third-party operators.
  • Airport Meet & Greet — Included with all airport delivery bookings. We meet you at the terminal with your vehicle staged, directions loaded, and your beach parking pass in the glovebox.

Availability of concierge services is subject to advance booking and seasonal demand. We recommend arranging concierge services at least 48 hours prior to your arrival.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

Vehicle Rental Cancellations

Vehicle rental cancellations are handled through and governed by the Turo platform's cancellation policy. Please refer to Turo's terms of service for details regarding cancellation timelines, fees, and refund eligibility. Coastal Lux does not control or override Turo's cancellation policies.

Concierge and Add-On Service Cancellations

  • Concierge services (private chef, grocery stocking, activity bookings) may be cancelled with a full refund if cancelled at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled service date.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the service cost, depending on whether supplies have been purchased or third-party reservations have been confirmed.
  • Beach equipment rental cancellations made prior to delivery are eligible for a full refund.
  • Prepaid Refuel is non-refundable once the trip has begun.

Refund Processing

Refunds for Coastal Lux add-on services will be processed within 5-7 business days to the original payment method. Vehicle rental refunds are processed by Turo according to their policies.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Coastal Lux, LLC, its owner, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of our services.

Coastal Lux's total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or our services shall not exceed the amount you paid directly to Coastal Lux (excluding amounts paid to Turo) in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Vehicle insurance and damage protection are provided through the Turo platform and are governed by Turo's terms. Coastal Lux is not responsible for vehicle insurance claims, accidents, or damage disputes handled through Turo.

Coastal Lux does not guarantee the availability, timeliness, or quality of third-party services arranged through our concierge (including but not limited to fishing charters, dolphin cruises, and restaurant reservations). We act as a coordinator and are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party service providers.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the Coastal Lux website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, photographs, and the overall design and layout, is the property of Coastal Lux, LLC or its licensors and is protected by United States copyright and intellectual property laws.

The Coastal Lux name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Coastal Lux, LLC. You may not use, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on our website without prior written permission.

Vehicle images sourced from the Turo platform are used in accordance with Turo's host and platform guidelines. Third-party trademarks (including Turo, Jeep, Chevrolet, Kia, Ford, Tommy Bahama) are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

10. Changes to Terms

Coastal Lux reserves the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the date of the most recent revision.

Your continued use of our services after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or text message (if you have opted into text messaging).

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Baldwin County, Alabama.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
